I am curious about a historical point of Submariners. Years ago when my father purchased his first Explorer it came on a leather strap, now of course it comes with an oyster bracelet. Has the Submariner always came with an oyster bracelet? Were there options in the early days? It seems I met a guy one time who was into vintage Subs, and he told me that they came with a bracelet and a leather or rubber strap years ago.
I am just curious if anyone has any idea or information on this. I would also love to see some pictures of subs on something besides the bracelet.
